26 People, 1 Cabin - The 2nd Annual Clements Family ReunionHe

This past weekend was the 2nd annual Lorin & Trudy Clements family reunion. This year we had our reunion at a cabin near Brighton Ski Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon. It was good to be with family, but after 4 days, and VERY little sleep, I was glad to be back at home. There were 26 of us, including one 4 year-old, 3 2 year-olds, and 4 babies under the age of 1 sleeping in the same cabin. The weekend included playing games, a temple open house, a "tour" of the Kennecott Copper Mine, hiking, family pictures, a baby blessing (40 people @ my house - don't think I will be doing that again :) ) and eating lots of yummy food.

Highlighs included:

Driving around and around a traffic circle in an effort to get the group together. By the time we all got the to the park, lack of sleep and food had hit the Clements clan - not pretty. Thankfully the in-laws understand and let us eat first.

Driving all over the southwestern portion of Salt Lake County trying to find the Copper mine. Turns out that we just had to follow the road with the traffic circle (which we had been on for most of the day) to the west and we would have been there in 10 minutes, instead of the 35. I thought it was hilarious - others were a lot less amused.

Isaiah and Tagg trying to break out of the cabin (they are 2) using plastic knifes to shimmy the door latch - good thing the door was barred otherwise they would have succeeded.

Going on our "morning" hike at 5pm - Plans are VERY fluid when the whole clan is together.

And my favorite - Just as I was falling to sleep Saturday night I heard my Dad say to my Mom, "I guess I must have slept too much this afternoon (Dad had 2 'naps' each at least 2 -2 1/2 hours each)." Not more than 2 minutes later, Dad started snoring. Classic!

I love my family and family reunions, even if most of the time was spent chasing kids. I didn't get to spend as much time visiting and catching up as I would have liked, but I guess that is just what happens when families grow.

Rhonda we missed you and your family, but understand. Hopefully the pictures will help you feel apart (and we seriously need to photoshop you all into the new family photo).

Thanks Sam & Kelsey for putting the whole thing together! Love you guys!

Catch up

I am sorry I dropped off the face of the earth for at least a month. I have been busy. I started my internship the week after finals and then took a vaca home to see the family. It was fun to be home and spend some time with my siblings. Since Reuben came home from his mission that weekend, and Abe and Ann came up for the as well, all of the boys were there for the first time in years. I had a great time playing with my nieces and nephews and hanging out with my family. I caught up on some reading (fun stuff, not school related) and relaxed. It was great. I am the luckiest girl in the world because I have five fabulous brothers and I got to hang out with them. Although the love to tease and pick on me, I know that they love me and I love them.

In additional to hanging out with my brothers (and sisters too),I got to experience spring at home. I love spring in general - the trees are blossoming, tulips are everywhere, the temperature is finally above freezing and the grass is turning green. But I especialy love spring in WA. My parent's have a dogwood tree in their front yard and it is my FAVORITE tree in the spring. The blossoms are beautiful and it just makes me happy.

I am working 4 days a week in Salt Lake so I am catching up with my Salt Lake friends more regularly. It is nice to get to see them more frequently than once a month or less. I am also keeping busy with other random things, like:

311 Concert w/Special Guest Ziggy Marley:My Newphew's 2nd Birthday Party:
More festivities are to come with the 2nd annual Lorin & Trudy Clements family reunion in 2 weeks and playing with friends as well.
